I am a big foodie. I love to cook, probably because I love to eat! Call me old fashioned, but I love being in the kitchen whipping up some creative concoction for dinner. For me, the magic of the kitchen really flourishes in the fall. I guess it’s the cooler temperatures, or the variety of the harvest that sets my imagination and my appetite ablaze.  Whatever it is, I like it!

You don’t have to be a great cook to enjoy the fall harvest. Obviously this fall food thing is not a new idea. For years now the idea of pumpkin spice everything has been in the main stream. But you don’t need to pumpkin spice anything to enjoy the fall flavors. Apples are abundant now, try adding apples to a roast or soup to freshen up a meal. Squash are everywhere this time of year. Roast an acorn or a butternut squash to add to any recipe or make some soup. A spaghetti squash is not only fun, but tastes great too. But don’t stop there. Corn and tomatoes are still available! So hold on to those fresh summer flavors as long as you can!

Come into the Farm Market here at Linvilla Orchards and stock up on all those great fall flavors. Remember, if you don’t want to cook there are always great things here on the farm to eat or take home with you. Nothing says fall like a freshly baked pie, a warm apple cider donut or a cold jug of apple cider.  If you’re just in the need for some lunch, stop by our Linvilla Grill and have a burger, some chicken salad or the best batch of fries.  If you need a little pick-me-up, stop in the café for a cappuccino or a chomp into the best gourmet caramel apples anywhere!  Mmmmmmm, nothing is better than the flavors of fall.
