The Christmas Bake-Off

Sixty Seconds with Judi

Sometimes I think that if I eat yet another Christmas Cookie, my body will explode! It all started with a few Christmas presents for my family over-seas. I had made some Christmas stockings and wanted to fill them with some home-made delights from my kitchen. Once my son heard of this he “needed” some cookies to get him through finals; so of course, being his mom, I “needed” to send some off to him as well! Next, I had this brilliant idea of baking some cookies for the neighbors, and then the mail carriers, then my friends at work, then… I think you get the picture. Before you know it, I am five pounds heavier and we are eating cookies for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I now understand why Santa has that bowl full of jelly laugh!

But I won’t worry about that today. It is the Christmas season and let’s face it- food is a big part of the holidays. So bake your heart out. Show some love to the neighbors and don’t forget to keep some freshly baked goodies around just in case company shows up unexpectedly.

If you are not the baking type, come visit the bakery at Linvilla Orchards and we can help you prepare for your holiday season. We don’t even mind if you put them on your own plate and pretend that you made them yourselves.  Complete the scene by purchasing a gingerbread scented candle in our gift shop.

But, most importantly, remember that Cookies don’t have calories at Christmas time. Besides, that is why we have New Year’s Resolutions!
