This season, Linvilla is offering the option for folks to bring back pumpkins, corn shocks, and straw bales to be composted at the end of the season!
In cooperation with few local compost collection services Linvilla operates a large composting operation here on the farm! Diverting organic waste from landfills is one of the best ways to lessen your impact on the environment.
Starting November 1st we will have a collection bin centrally located in our main parking lot. You can bring back your pumpkins, corn shocks, and straw bales and we will put them in our compost pile! If you choose to participate in this program, please make sure that no plastic makes its way in to the bins. If you would like to put your pumpkins in a bag or box to bring it over to the farm, please use paper or cardboard – both can be composted!
