To clean the candle jar begin by using a spoon or flathead screwdriver to pry the wick loose. Next fill with a bit of hot water and let sit a minute to loosen the wax and start wiping the jar out over a garbage can with a paper towel. Continue by using an old towel warmed with hot water and wipe the inside of the jar several times. Then wash with hot soapy water or put into the dishwasher.
