What a Beautiful Farm

Sixty Seconds with Judi

As I drove into work today I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the day. It actually made me a little emotional. I know you’re thinking maybe I’m just a little crazy, but just wait, it gets even crazier. As I drove on to the farm and reached the top of the hill, where I park, I had to stop for just a moment and get out of my car. I stood there with the early morning sun shining on the orchard (Cue Music); the fruit trees alive with their blooms in shades of pinks and whites thousands, maybe millions of flowers in the sunlight. I felt a little like Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music. I wanted to burst in to song and twirl around dancing through the rows of trees smiling and giggling helplessly, while others came out to join me. “It’s a Beautiful World” was playing in my head and for a half a second I may have been singing out loud. The birds were chirping, the sky was blue, the moment was its own musical and I wanted to watch for hours as the blossoms danced in the breeze, but alas a truck drove by and woke me from my fantasy. “What a Beautiful day” they yelled as they drove by. “What a Beautiful World,” I yelled back-I don’t think I sang it. But if I did, I don’t really care. I just hope I wasn’t dancing and twirling around. Needless to say, this is my favorite time on the farm.

Join us this weekend for a Blossom Hayride and see the trees come alive for yourself. They run Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 4pm.
