The Light of Linvilla

This week we have suffered a loss on the Farm. Our beloved Matriarch, Peg Linvill has passed away. Peg was such a light to all of us at Linvilla.  Her strength and sense of humor made all who work here feel as if we were part of the family.

Many of you probably do not know that Peg started Pumpkinland, the heart of Linvilla Orchards. It is because of Peg’s creative genius that almost every child in Delaware County has a picture near our beloved characters that fill our yard. It is because of her that at one-time Linvilla Orchard’s held the Guinness World book record for the Largest Rag Doll known as Peggy Ann, Peg’s beloved namesake.

Peg had started and managed the Gift shop atop the Octagonal Barn. Although the Barn no longer exists, the gift shop remains strong in the Garden Center as does Peg’s love of education. She was the heart that started our creative classes here at Linvilla Orchards and the reason we have grown to what we are today.

I could go on forever sharing with you the light that this remarkable woman has shed on us here at Linvilla Orchards. But instead I invite you to come and see for yourselves. Come see the love that we all share for this woman and her family every day here on the farm. Come see the light that still shines through her children and grandchildren. Come see the family that is Linvilla Orchards. What a bright light she was to us all. May her light shine on us forever from above.

Please hold the family in your prayers.
