Attract Hummingbirds and Butterflies

Summer is almost here, and folks are getting ready to spend more time at home. A fun way to add interest and excitement into your backyard for the summer is to plant flowers to attract hummingbirds and butterflies!

We carry a wide range of butterfly plants from  Centerton Nursery! We have 16 varieties of Asclepias (Milkweed) in stock which is crucial for monarch butterflies! There are a ton of native, and colorful varieties to choose from. Our team has put together a Butterfly section right in the front of the yard, when you walk in you can’t miss it!

If you are looking to attract hummingbirds there are a lot of options! A good rule of thumb is to look out for flowers with long and tubular blooms. They are very attracted to red plants, but overall,, you can’t go wrong with a tubular flower! “Winy Double Red & White’ Columbine, Veronicas, Trumpet Vine, or Cardenal Flowers are all great choices. If your space has a lot of shade, you could consider a Hosta, or a Fusica. A common thought about hummingbirds is that you need to go out and purchase a feeder to attract them and that can’t be further from the truth! So many plants do a great job attracting them naturally!

We are here 8 am – 6 pm daily and we have knowledgeable staff on hand to help you choose the perfect plant for your space! Stop by and let us help you make the most out of your yard this summer!
