Spring; a Time for New Life

Sixty Seconds with Judi

Thirty some odd years ago, wait, let’s start again… Once upon a time I attended a small farm school in Southern Colorado.  Just as winter was ending the farm would start to come alive with new life. The new foals would stumble alongside their mothers kicking their little legs up in the air, the calves would stick close to mamma crying for milk and trying to stay warm. The mornings were still cold but the afternoon air was warmer and the sun would shine brightly on all the new life that was springing up all over. The landscape was changing so quickly it seemed palpable, all of your senses came alive and it was such a wonderful feeling being able to witness the entire rebirth before your eyes.

So much is happening here on the farm every day, despite the cooler temperatures spring is here and teaming with the possibilities of growth and new life before us. This week at Linvilla Orchards you will see the farm coming to life with new babies! We have two new calves to greet you out in front of the market and dozens of new chicks hatching every day. Orchard Lake is stocked with fish, the Easter bunny is hopping around in bunny land and the trees are starting to bud with the promise of a bountiful harvest in our future. We are so excited to share this with you so come on out to the farm and celebrate the rebirth of a new season.
