What to know

Linvilla Orchards share a passion for the tasks that are accomplished here everyday.  We do what we love and we love what we do.  We want to share our love of gardening, building, growing and teaching with you!  All of our classes are always fun, informative and geared towards the whole family.  Join us as we share our knowledge in seasonal subjects such as Backyard Birding, Shade Gardening, Pesky Garden Pests, Lawn Maintenance and Management and Caring for Vegetable plants, herbs and fruit trees as well as hands-on classes like Build Your Own Terrarium and Gardening with Children.  Every month, we carefully put together a calendar of classes that we know you'll love!

July Classes

Cooking with Judi Friday, July 6th at 5pm
Judi is back with her love of farm fresh foods. Gather around Judi’s table to share her love of seasonal fruits and vegetables.  Class is free, but please call (610) 876-7116 to register.

Jammin’ with Judi Saturday, July 7th from 10am to 2pm
Judi will be in front of the Market demonstrating how to make delicious blueberry Jam.

Summer Science & Nature Series- Children’s Solar Print Class Wednesday, July 11th at 11am
This week, Miss Marcia will help her students produce beautiful prints from natural products and the Sun! Miss Marcia will take you for a little nature walk where you will choose the items you would like for your prints. Children will use Solar Print paper to make their very own prints to take home.  You’ll be given enough paper to take home and do more projects on your own. Succulent Wreath Class Saturday, July 14th at 10am
We will help you to assemble a beautiful 6” grapevine wreath with your choice of colorful succulents. Larger wreaths and upgrades are available. Please call (610) 876-7116 to register. Fee $25

Gardening with Children Sunday, July 22nd at 10am
Miss Marcia will be talking dirt, Compost that is. She will show you the importance of worms in your garden. You will go home with your very own worm farm. Class is free, but please call (610) 876-7116 to register.

Summer Science & Nature Series: Owls and What They Eat Wednesday, July 25th at 11am
In this class Miss Marcia will be talking about Owls and their prey. Each child will get to play forensic scientist as they dissect an owl pellet and identify his meal. Please call (610) 876-7116 to register. Fee $10

Build your own Terrarium Saturday, July 28th at 10am
This is one of our more popular classes. We supply everything you need to build your own beautiful terrarium. You can choose from a variety of containers and plants and our knowledgeable Garden Center staff will guide you through the entire process. Please call (610) 876-7116 to register. Fee $35

August Classes

Cooking with Judi- Friday, August 3rd 5pm
We are in peak growing season and there are so many delectable items to choose from. Judi will surprise us with her tasty picks of the season. Class is free, but please call (610) 876-7116 to register so we make enough food.

Summertime Sampling with Judi- Saturday, August 4th 10am - 2pm
Join Judi in front of our Farm Market as she shares some of her favorite Peach recipes just in time for the Peach Festival!

Succulent Wreath Class- Saturday, August 4th 10am

Gardening with Children- Saturday, August 11th 10am
August is the best month for the tastiest local tomatoes! Miss Marcia will show you many different tomato varieties and tasting is encouraged! You will learn the ins and outs of growing your very own tomato garden. As always there will be a related activity. Class is free, but please call (610) 876-7116 to register.

Build your own Terrarium- Saturday, August 18th 10am

Meet Our Barnyard Friends- Sunday, August 26th 11:30am
August is all about goats. Come visit with Linvilla’s own goatherd, Miss Molly and learn about the transition of Goats through the ages from the Mountains to the Farm. Let’s Learn about how they help us today right here on the farm. Class is free, but please call (610) 876-7116 to register. If this class fills up, we will also hold another class at 1:30pm

Story Time & Craft
Join us every Tuesday at 10am as a member of our staff reads an entertaining story featuring gardens, farming, animals and nature! Children can also create a special craft each week! Meet in our Garden Center. Especially for preschoolers, but your entire family is welcome to join us. No charge. Rain or Shine.
No Registration required.

Cooking with Judi

Cooking with Judi has become a favorite of our guests and employees alike.  Each month, Judi comes up with the most mouth-watering recipes that are not only good for you, but easy to duplicate!  She creates a whole meal from appetizer to dessert that corresponds to the season or an upcoming holiday or festivity.  Being influenced by her mother, her family and her friends, she is able to put together a meal that you can make in your own kitchen with simple ingredients, many of which are available in our Farm Market.  Make it a girls' night out, a casual date night, or just a reason to get out of the house and do something different for a change.  Which ever reason you choose, remember to come hungry! Come see why this is the most popular class we offer! We supply everything you need to build your own beautiful terrarium. You can choose from a variety of containers and plants and our knowledgeable Garden Center staff will guide you through the whole process. Add Fairy Garden Accessories (not included) to make your garden as unique as you are!

Gardening with Children

Every month, Miss Marcia digs deep into a different area of nature.  She inspires children and their parents/ care takers to explore their surroundings.  She encourages them to learn how plants grow, the importance of worms to our earth, how to keep our featured friends who don't fly South warm for the winter and the necessity of bees.  Every class is hands on and, more importantly, fun for the family!  With each class, the children will participate in a fun activity or create a project that will help them better understand the lesson Miss Marcia is discussing!
