HISTORY

Be part of our ongoing history.

In 1914, Arthur Linvill and his mother Lydia purchased a dairy farm with an eighty-foot tall octagonal barn. The Linvills shipped fresh milk and cream to Philadelphia, but decided they wanted to broaden their horizons. So they planted orchards, and sold their fruits from a horse-drawn wagon and from the front porch of their home. Once the word got out that the Linvills had such great produce, they moved their store into the barn.
It wasn't long before they added a bakery and gift shop. Neighbors from all over the Philadelphia region have been coming back ever since.

In 2002, the picturesque barn was destroyed in a fire, but the Linvill family is planning to rebuild the landmark on its original site. In the meantime, the market has moved to a new building. And Arthur's son Paul, his wife Peg, their children and their grandchildren continue to operate Linvilla Orchards, faithful to the tradition that has made it such a great place to visit for nearly 100 years. They hope you'll be part of the next great era in Linvilla history.
