Linvilla Orchards Fall Hayride Tours 2011

Linvilla Orchards offers a special educational farm experience for school and community groups. Fall is the most popular time to visit; Pumpkinland is open and filled with over 100 tons of pumpkins, scarecrows, and larger than life Halloween decorations depicting legends and lore of apples and pumpkins. While you’re here you’ll want to check out Pumpkinland, visit with the animals, play in our unique playground and enjoy lunch in our picnic grove.

Where does our food come from? Step out of the classroom and onto Linvilla Orchards family farm to find out! It’s the perfect place for your students to experience nature. Our 2011 tour program provides you and your students with a greater understanding and appreciation of local and sustainable agriculture. Once your organization chooses our narrated Hayride Tour you’ll never look at fruits and vegetables the same way again!

Visit the farm animals, play in our unique playground, enjoy lunch in our picnic grove, and shop in our spectacular farm market. Everyone will take home something to remember what they’ve learned.

The Hayride Tour
A knowledgeable guide will join your group to narrate your Hayride Tour through our beautiful fields and orchards and point out how and where different crops are grown on the farm. We raise dozens of different fruit and vegetable crops including: apples, peaches, pumpkins, pears, berries, tomatoes, and sweet corn.

Our guide will describe the daily activities which occur on the farm while your group observes them happening. You may see us planting or harvesting crops, you’ll see first-hand that strawberries grow on the ground and that apples grow on trees. It’s also likely that you’ll see big tractors cultivating and modern farm equipment in operation in our fields and orchards.

Each Hayride Tour participant receives a coloring book, a Tour Talk newspaper, an apple, and a cup of apple cider. Teachers also receive a Pennsylvania Apple Growers Association educational kit.

The total time of the Hayride Tour is approximately 30 minutes.
Available every weekday from September 12 through November 11, starting at 9:00 am.
Our Hayride Tour wagons fit groups of up to 50 people
$8 per person. 1 adult is included at no charge for every 10 paid participants.

The minimum for a reserved group is 15 people or $120.00.
